Thanksgiving 2009
Every year I have something for which to be thankful and this year is no exception.
I was really happy to see Don again. I did manage to get some shots of him with two of his granddaughters. Maybe next year I will be able to get him with all three of them. That would be tremendous, especially if I can get all in the same photograph.
The highlight of the day was meeting a very interesting woman from China named Connie. She is a member of Holy Cross and a PhD in Economics candidate. Those who have read enough of my pages about the Inner Harbor know how much I love meeting people from different countries and different cultures. This is one of the reason that I really love Baltimore. At the Baltimore Visitor Center I would meeting people from at least ten different countries every day.
Connie went to undergraduate school in the same city where I was stationed in the Air Force. It was good to hear that things have improved greatly there since my days. I still have no desire to visit Macon GA because of my very negative experiences there. But I knew that things had to improve. There were too many people down there who had open minds and who accepted everybody equally.
I have always enjoyed coming over to Dr. Pat and Russ for the major holidays. They always have wonderful and interesting guests and we always have a great time. The conversations are always uplifting and I always leave a richer person, at least spiritually and intellectually. Russ and Dr. Pat celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary during the week. Many years!! |
