Holy Trinity Annual Meeting

The annual parish meeting is often the most important secular gathering in a parish. It is at this meeting that many important decisons are made concerning the physical plant. At this meeting the membership gives direction to the Parish Council for the following year and they also elect the new members to the Parish Council.

The job of the Parish Council is to assist the priest in his duties. The Parish Council takes care of the physical plant and the finances of the parish. This gives the priest more time to minister to those in need.

One of the benefits that I have at Holy Trinity is a Parish Council which is on the same page as the priest. It is not at odds with the priest. I see ity as being very supportive of the priest and this is extremely important.

Also at our annual meeting the Festival chairman turns over to the parish a check which repreents the profit from the Festival. The Festival is a fund raiser for the parish and also one of our outreach tools.

One of the fruits of this annual meeting was the establishment of a History Committee of which I am a member. Right now I am looking for all kinds of information about life in Baltimore in 1919. I am also scanning many old photographs, some of which will probably be in the program book for our centennial celebration.
