Brotherhood Meeting, January 2008
About a year or two before I became a member of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, I was a member of th brotherhood. I think that it was Alexander (Sonny) who invited me to join.
We are a small organization, but very cohesive. Our activities are generally open to almost anybody who wants to attend. We have several women and girls who come to many of our functions and we also have an Episcopal man who comes. The brothrhood is a social organization connected with the church.fter the Liturgy on Bright Saturday, we had a Paschal Procession around the entire block. We had the procession the last two years, but this year we actually walked in the street as the New York Police Department blocked off the streets for us. We started from the cathedral on 97th Street, turned left on Madison Avenue, then left on 98th Street, and again left on Fifth Avenue, and again on 97th Street where we ended in front of the cathedral for the proclaimation of the Gospel.
Bishop GABRIEL took part in this procession as did two others from his office. One was Eugene Hrihoriak, the accountant and fundraising coordinator for the Church.
